LP-3: Five U.S. in Top 20; Jerome 5th
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Oct. 9) - Clint Jones (Steamboat Springs, CO) clinched second place in the standings for the first period of Continental Cup ski jumping Sunday, finishing sixth in a normal hill (HS100) contest as part of the annual Falling Leaves Festival. Women's points leader Anette Sagen of Norway won the women's competition with Jessica Jerome and Lindsey Van (both Park City, UT) fifth and sixth.


LP-2: Rain, Cold for Jumpers
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Oct. 8) - Clint Jones (Steamboat Springs, CO) finished fifth Saturday in rain and cold, leading two other U.S. skiers into the top 20 of a Continental Cup jumping meet at the Flaming Leaves Festival. Jessica Jerome (Park City, UT) led three U.S. women into the top 10 in their competition.
LP-1: SuperTour Top-3 for Jones
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Oct. 7) - Olympian Clint Jones (Steamboat Springs, CO) produced his third consecutive podium Friday while Continental Cup jumping leader Marcin Bachleda of Poland tied the hill record of 101.5 meters on his final jump to win a SuperTour jumping event that opened the annual Flaming Leaves Festival with. In the women's contest, Canadian Atsuko Tanaka won her second consecutive meet with four U.S. women in the top 10.
Men, Women Jumpers Ready in LP
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (Oct. 7) - A SuperTour competition Friday kicks off three days of ski jumping - including Continental Cup action for men and women - on the 1980 Olympic normal hill (HS100) at the MacKenzie Intervale Jumping Complex. Olympian Clint Jones (Steamboat Springs, CO) will be aiming for a fifth podium performance while two-time Olympian Alan Alborn (Acnhorage, AK) is expected to make his first competitive jumps after coming back from knee surgery.
